Why use a browser-based split pdf?
Splitting a PDF is a structural operation — it reads the page tree and writes new documents — so it does not require a powerful server. Yet most online splitters still upload your file, process it remotely, and present a download link. For a 200-page contract or a scanned ID, that upload is a privacy risk.
LoveMyFile splits PDFs locally using pdf-lib. The page tree is parsed in your browser, the selected pages are copied into new PDF documents, and everything is packaged into a ZIP for download. No file ever touches a server.
Splitting locally also means there is no queue, no rate limit, and no file-size cap beyond what your browser can comfortably hold in memory. A 500-page PDF splits in seconds.

Common issues and fixes
- My page ranges are not being recognized.
- Use commas to separate ranges and a hyphen for ranges — for example, "1-3, 5, 8-10". Spaces around commas are fine. Do not use semicolons or slashes.
- The downloaded ZIP will not open.
- Make sure your browser finished the split before you navigated away. If the ZIP is still corrupted, try splitting fewer pages at once or download individual PDFs instead.
- The split PDFs are password-protected.
- If the source PDF was encrypted, the split copies inherit the encryption. Use the Unlock PDF tool first to remove the password, then split.
