Common issues and fixes
- The resized image looks stretched.
- The aspect-ratio lock is off. Turn it on to preserve the original proportions, or enter width and height values that match the original ratio.
- Upscaling made the image blurry.
- Scaling up beyond the original resolution cannot add detail that was not there. For best results, use the Upscale Image tool, which uses AI to add plausible detail when enlarging.
- The file size did not change after resizing.
- If you only changed dimensions slightly, the re-encoded file may be similar in size. For a dramatic size reduction, combine resizing with the Compress Image tool.
